Big Wave Bay - Shek O

Me and my delightful friend Kelsey (soon to be a breakout Hong Kong jewelry model) decided to take advantage of one of her rare free Saturdays and explore a new area of HK island - Shek O and Big Wave Bay. It was a treat to spend some one and one time with Kelsey, sans her entourage. Plenty of time to strategize the fastest way to get her face time on HK billboards and buses. Ultimate goal: wallet size glam shots on taxi dashboards - totally doable in the next 7 months we have together. But back to our excursion...

We started on the famous Hong Kong trail and then descended down the Dragon's Back to find ourselves on an absolutely stunning beach strangely reminiscent of my favorite beach in Southern California...or maybe I was simply disillusioned after recently returning from 10 days in California during the holidays. The below-75-degree weather had deterred anyone from heading outdoors, making it an ideal day to explore this fabulous seaside haven. The South China Sea was almost a transparent turquoise color and the air seemed just a little more breathable. We soon found out that Chinese surf bums really do exist and there are plenty of them, yet another reason to love Hong Kong.

We both agreed to make a trip back to this gem of a beach very soon, i'm thinking it might be the perfect location for a photoshoot to help build up Kelsorama's modeling portfolio :)

Wow, I love a good shout out! That really was the best beach...you better believe we will be back soon. If nothing else, to recapture that mind blowing restaurant sign on film.
